Characteristics and mature application of PBT
PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) is a mature raw material for injection molding, and the quality of the products manufactured is quite good. PBT is polymerized from polyterephthalic acid and butanediol, and its main chain contains rigid benzene rings and saturated linear molecules of flexible fatty alcohols. This highly regular and rigid molecular structure makes PBT show good comprehensive performance. In terms of finished products, PBT has significant advantages such as impact strength, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, aging resistance and wear resistance; from the perspective of processing, it has high plasticity and good electrical insulation. Therefore, injection molding plants often apply PBT to mechanical parts, electronic products and other fields. Compared with other engineering plastics such as POM, PA and PC, PBT is more widely used.
Relationship between procurement strategy and product quality
In order to increase the factory’s profits, many Plastic Contract Manufacturing Company will try to reduce the procurement cost of raw materials. Some manufacturers choose to purchase in large quantities to obtain lower purchase prices, and this method usually does not affect the processing quality, although more funds are required in the early stage. However, some manufacturers choose to lower the procurement standards and purchase PBT of poor quality, which will have a negative impact on product quality and is not an effective cost control measure. In the long run, this practice may damage the reputation of the injection molding factory, lead to a decrease in customer trust, and ultimately affect the number of orders from the manufacturer.
