Key points of mold design for charger shell manufacturers
After receiving an order, the Charger injection molding manufacturers first needs to study the production process according to the customer’s requirements and provide samples for customer inspection. If the sample is qualified, mass production can be carried out after the two parties negotiate the price. In the process of studying the production process, mold design is a crucial step. Today, we will learn about the key points of mold design through the charger shell manufacturer.
Usually, the charger shell manufacturer will ask engineers to propose several production methods and conduct comparative analysis to find the most suitable solution. During the analysis, the manufacturer will consider the feasibility of the injection molding process and the economy of production to ensure that the selected solution can meet the customer’s quality requirements. Once the manufacturing plan is determined, the manufacturer will design the corresponding mold according to the plan.
First, the parting surface and number of the cavity need to be determined. The parting surface is the surface in the mold that is in direct contact with the product, which affects the shape and pouring state of the product. According to the type and structural characteristics of the product, the cavity and core are designed, and the appropriate manufacturing material is selected. Secondly, the charger shell manufacturer also needs to design the pouring port, and its shape, number and size will affect the quality of the charger shell.
In addition, manufacturers should also pay attention to the design of the cold material cavity to ensure the smooth use of the mold. The function of the cold material cavity is to collect the front cold material in the plastic melt to prevent it from clogging the gate or entering the cavity, thereby avoiding defects such as insufficient filling or affecting the welding strength of the product. Common cold material cavity designs include cold material cavity with I-shaped tie rod, inverted cone cold material cavity with push rod and spherical cold material cavity with tie rod. Charger shell manufacturers need to choose the appropriate design scheme according to the characteristics of the product.
